This organization was born from a simple but undeniable truth. Nonprofits were being priced out of medical conferences, losing essential opportunities to connect with providers and the communities they serve.
As a cancer survivor, I’ve personally felt the consequences of that gap. My own care team didn’t always know which resources were available and I realized how many others must be facing the same challenge. That’s why our mission isn’t just professional for me; it’s deeply personal.
At my core, I’m driven by a passion for helping people. My hope is that through this organization, we can bridge those gaps, elevate education, and shine a light on the vital services available to individuals living with chronic illnesses.

Vice ChairJoAnne serves as our Vice Chair and brings a deep commitment to service. As a paralegal and college instructor, she has dedicated her career to empowering others through knowledge, advocacy, and compassion. Her passion for strengthening her community and supporting those facing hardship makes her an invaluable part of MTJAF’s leadership team.

SecretaryRachel Humble serves as our Secretary and brings a unique blend of skills to MTJAF. With a background in grant writing and software development, she combines strategic thinking with technical expertise. Her experience as a hospice volunteer reflects her deep compassion and dedication to supporting individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments. Rachel’s diverse skill set and heart for service make her an invaluable member of our team.
